This individually guided retreat
will be held at Shepherd's Dene Retreat House (see below for
directions).
It will be conducted by members of the Priory team
along the same lines as the very successful retreat held last year.
Silence will be observed for most of the time and there will be a daily
Eucharist and a communal act of prayer. Each
participant will have a daily meeting with his or her Retreat Director,
to talk over the prayer for the day and to explore ways forward in their
experience. Those who have already
made an individually guided retreat in silence may find the longer
six-day retreat more suitable. The maximum number for the retreat is 16
on a first-come, first-served basis. It's suggested that you book early
to avoid disappointment. For more
details and to get a place on the retreat, please email Paul

of Shepherds Dene is its peaceful setting and atmosphere. The estate
is hidden from the road and not obvious to the casual traveller. It
is, however, easily accessible by car, train and bus. The bus stop
is in the nearby village of Riding Mill.
The car driver
should leave the A68 onto the A695 and on into Riding Mill. Continue through
the village, past the Wellington pub on the right and up the hill past the speed
camera (slowly!). At the end of the village take the left turn up a
steep hill signposted "Shepherds Dene and Slaley". The
house about 1.5
kilometres along this road on the left.
As it is a stiff
walk up to Shepherds Dene from Riding Mill village, those coming
by public transport may wish to travel to Hexham where there
are taxi ranks outside both bus and rail stations.
